In Australian river Nuza there happened a massive death of young fish. Nothing unusual as it may seem, fish dies everywhere, but in Austrlia the reason is… genetic mutation.
The mutation has lead to horrible concequences: young fish just hatched from the spawn has very often 2 heads and die in the first 2 days after the birth. They have argues… probably.
You may laugh at it but more and more often there appear the mutations connected with the influence of people on mother nature. The reason of this mutation is most likely the fertilizers, which were washed away from the fields.
In some districts in the USA sometimes happens a massive appearance of frogs with 5 legs, or, for example, biological population of Moskva river consists of mostly freaks and sick fish.
If the situation doesn’t change, it would be very difficult to identify your trophy soon..unless you are a professional ichthyologist.

The influence of smoking on fishing.

Smoking is one of the most popular harmful habits, from which a lot of people suffer nowadays. And of cours there are people who are fond of fishing among them. This is leading to the question: does smoking have an influence on the effectiveness of fishing? Frankly speaking, the answer on this question is ambiguous, because some fishermen think that these two activities have no points of coincidence, others on the contrary see the concrete connection between smoking and absence of biting.
Let’s try to solve the dispute. We’ll begin with the reminding that cigarettes provide our organism besides toxic tobacco smoke with nicotine, which is poisonous (don’t forget the proverb that a drop of nicotine kill a horse). Of course, the amount of nicotine from one smoked cigarette can’t do any serious harm to a person, but…

If we go away from our organism and transfer all this thought on fish’s organisme we will realize, that there is enough nicotine in one cigarette to harm water creatures. This fact makes the underwater inhabitants on the level of instincts avoid any contact with this substance. But how can this fact influence on the intensity of biting?

The answer is simple. If you smoke, look at the color of your nail on index and ring fingers. Do you see yellow spots? Yes, this is nicotine itself, which transferes from the cigarette to your skin and soaks into it. And now think about how you bait. We bait the baiter with exactly these fingers, it means that the nicotine from the fingers gets to the biting and frightens off the fish. And now it’s time to think, how smoking can influence on the results of fishing.

There are a lot of fishermen who one day suffered from the problems with biting and didn’t know why this was happening, because their neighbour fishermen were fishing out one by one. It’s not an ancient magic! The problem was probably caused by the harmful habit called smoking. Now we know that the nicotine that is on the baiter frightens the fish off of the delicacies.

North Korean ambassador caught on illegal fishing.

The police in Berlin has caught North Korean ambassador when he was fishing without a licence. The accident happened on January, 15, when the ambassador was fishing on Havel river in Berlin. On the policeman’s request to provide any documents or fishing licence, the man showed the certificate of being an ambassador of DPRK, issued on the name of Ri Si-hong.
The ambassador, appointed on service of DPRK representative in Germany in September, 2 2011, was asked to stop fishing illegaly, but he behaved like it was a game and denied to obey the police. The policemen had to let him go because of his diplomatic inviolability.
In Berlin police there was made a protocol on violation act, however they denied to approve the arrest of North Korean ambassador.
In Germany the illegal fishing is punished by big penalty or prison term for 2 years. In recent few years many foreign diplomates have been accused of different breakings of the law, including the rules of the road and even thefts. Illegal fishing occurs very rarely.

As a result the law was changed again. Now, to the joy of all fishermen, no one can “grab” your favorite sites on the rivers. But all the rivers will be paid. What is the point? In order to safely catch carps and sheatfish wherever you want, you must purchase a fisherman card called fish-card. Its cost is not known yet, but we are talking about amounts ranging from 300 to 500 rubles a year. For this money 130 000 Russian rivers and two million lakes across the country will be at your disposal. The intention of the bill, the funds collected will be used for breeding fish and taking care of water ponds.

For comparison, currently amateur fisherman in England (UK) must pay £72 each season to have the right to catch both migratory and non-migratory fish. So russian price seems very small.

As it was expected opinions about the introduction of a fish-cards turned out to be different. Experts believe that despite the large number of improvements the bill in its current form is still not finished and not clear. Although the mass introduction of cards angler is scheduled for the next year.
